Alicia Paz ::::::

In April we welcomed Alicia Paz to Preston and to Artlab Contemporary Print Studios to begin her residency. Born in Mexico City, Alicia now lives and works in London. She shows work internationally and nationally and has work in multiple significant collections.

Alicia’s paintings, collages and standing figures deal primarily with identity, and explore the tension between illusion and notions of hybridity, assemblage and metamorphosis.

Continuing her focus on the female figure,  Alicia explored form as multiple, paradoxical and fantastical, exploring classical illustrations of women combined with fish tails.  Unique feminine creatures explored through screenprinting, monotype and tetrapack.

Returning at the end of June, Alicia completed her residency.  Expanding her experimental approach to drawing and mark making, focusing on tetrapack printing, creating an ambitious number of print surfaces and sections which will be pieced together to create new unique works.
