Emily Speed ::::::
Emily Speed’s practice explores the relationship between people and buildings, specifically exploring the body and its relationship to architecture. The idea of shelter and the inhabitant is at the core of much of Emily’s work; how a person is shaped by the buildings they have occupied and how a person occupies their own psychological space.
Emily’s most recent exhibitions include: UnBuild: A site of Possibility, The Drawing Room, London (2023); Flatland, Tate Liverpool (2021); Kinross at 40, Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh (2021); Rooms Designed for a Woman, Tate, St Ives (2020) Through print Emily is continuing her investigations of people and buildings, working with the Tracy Hill, Kathryn Poole and Nick Rhodes, exploring combinations of Lithography, Screenprint and Ceramics as her ideas develop in a wonderful evolution of exploration through materials.
